I'm learning to snowboard over the holiday! I have bruises on my bruises, but it's awesome! Hopefully during interim I'll be able to get to Welch Village and make some major improvements...hehe! Hope all your holiday's were wonderful and happy new year to all!

Finals Fun
I can officially say i've made it through my first semester! Finals went just fine, but i'm going to miss my amazing lab partner and compassionate FYW class, although I am happy to say i'll be seeing some of them in religion *love you lindsay! and intro to environmental studies over interim. I'm very excited to be coming home for christmas and catch up with life in houston, but i'll be happy to come back to the hill and meet up with some new contacts for lunch, coffee, or whatev... Prof. Bauer is amazing at making these connections happen.... thank you, thank you, thank you
My big horray before i leave for the holiday was an amazing sledding run on the caf trays down Old Main today (yes i made it down the hill and didn't die!) Over interim, we'll conquer Thorson hill.
Unfortunatly the holiday is only 2 weeks, but i'll be back once interim is over in the beginning of February. If anyone is interested though you can come visit me on the hill over your long christmas holiday... just a thought!
I'm very jealous of all you bandies going to New York. A good friend of mine,Gueon, from Korea, will be going to New York for the holiday's and i'de love to tell anyone her story once she comes back. Miss you Gueon!
Ha det så lenge! Med Vennlig Hilsen

YAH!!
This weekends been amazing and only two days left!! I knocked the socks off my biology midterm friday thanks to all the studying my wonderful lab partner and I accomplished and now i'm studying up for Norwegian...my last midterm before thanksgiving break!
On friday I also helped pop some popcorn over the stove (very exciting... popcorn hopping all over the place!) and Nicolleta and one of my dance instructors Sherry made some chai tea, apple crisp, and pear crisp... for none other than GATHER! a community dance event where i got to dance with a little girl named siri... we have a lot in common... my norwegian name is siri, so there you have it!
Today my two wonderful cousins stopped by to visit me after chapel and we checked out hogan bros. for some delicious hoagies and soup... to full for ice cream today! and this afternoon i went to viking theater in buntrock commons to watch harry potter (at none other than hogwarts itself!) .... i will break out into song now...
We come from St. Olaf, we sure are the real stuff. Our team is the team of the colleges great. We fight fast and furious, our team is injurious. Tonight Carleton College will sure meet its fate. Um! Yah! Yah! Um! Yah! Yah! Um! Yah! Yah! Um! Yah! Yah! Um! Yah! Yah! Um! Yah! Yah! Um! Yah!Yah! Yah!
hope you enjoyed the school song... i'll look for a recording... otherwise hope to see you all over thanksgiving break!

Kebabkveld
YEAH!! kebabkveld tonight at the norwegian house, it was the first of my many visits! Kebabene var veldig godt!! And although kebabs aren't very authentic to Norway...you should check out the authentic norwegian commercials... i know you're probably thinking how ridiculous, learning norwegian by watching the commercials, but the jingle is quite catchy...har'u hørt, har' u sett, har' u sjekka det siste...vi snakker ekte kjælighet!

Hei Hei...
I suppose you're wondering about the title right? Well if i'm wrong i'm going to tell you anyway. Med Vennlig Hilsen means with friendly greetings in Norwegian. This is my first semester of Norwegian classes at St. Olaf and i'm really enjoying it! I'm also taking Biology, Modern Dance, and First Year Writing, which each pose their own challenges, but i like them all the same.
My attempt in creating this blog is to keep you all posted about the happenings here at St. Olaf and how life in general is going for me as i face the many challenges up ahead...
